Patrons are well-known or respected people who lend their name and public support to help our organsiation. They act as a figurehead to boost public trust, attract media attention, and help to bring in donations.
Welcome to our very first Patron!
Major Patricia Murphy (Retired), The King’s Own Calgary Regiment.
Major Murphy is the daughter of Brigadier William “Bill” Cameron Murphy, DSO, CBE, Commanding Officer of the 1st Canadian Armoured Brigade, which stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the 49th West Riding (Infantry) Division, the Polar Bears, when in the Betuwe.
When we first connected with Major Murphy, her enthusiasm for our project and goal was quite evident and created an instant connection. When we asked her to be our Patron and we spoke about our hope that she would be an ambassador for this much forgotten Liberation, involving Canadian and British heroes, she was all for it!
